Bob Iger took his earnings call today and some little nuggets of news dropped out of the House of Mouse today.
Some of those nuggets are:
The Mandalorian season two will begin streaming in October. Previous reports said fall 2020 and October is fall. The series will also run beyond season two “including the possibility of infusing it with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series.”
Lucasfilm will also be focusing more on streaming series for Disney+ and staying away from films for now. Damn.
While I am all for Lucasfilm strengthening their film game, the push for more series-based content could in turn, make streaming more prevalent.
All I can say is that 2020 is definitely going to be a good year for Star Wars content with Clone Wars returning in a few weeks, the rumored 4K blu ray box set in April, and The Mandalorian in October.
