Prequel Trilogy Character Returning for Kenobi Series

The scuttlebutt is that a prequel-era character is returning for the Disney+ Kenobi series. Who can it be now?

While we don’t like to post rumors too much, this one is gaining some steam. Jason Ward at Making Star Wars has some intelligence that Jar Jar Binks himself will be making an appearance.

Early work has been conducted for the CGI Gungan’s return to Star Wars. Jar Jar has a beard to reflect where he’s been and what his life has been like since they were all deceived by a great lie that ushered in the first Galactic Empire.

There is apparently a scene in which the two bearded characters talk about the past and we’ll probably get some verbal (or visual) exposition about events from The Phantom Menace and possibly events all the way up to Rogue One.

Now, there is no word if Ahmed Best will be returning to voice or mo cap the character and since the series hasn’t began filming yet, details are scarce.

The late, great Captain Tarpals once sported some facial hair, but it seemed like more of a moustache than a beard.

It is strange to see other Star Wars fans anticipate seeing Jar Jar Binks again. Kenobi is going to be an interesting series because it seems as if it should be limited as to who we see interact with Obi Wan because he is supposed to be exiled. There’s no doubt he’ll have interactions with uncle Owen but it other characters will have to be introduced as coming to Obi Wan’s neck of the woods like Maul in Rebels, which I’m betting we will end up seeing in live action form.
