First Look At A Skiff From the Set of ‘The Mandalorian’!

Making Star Wars seems to have their own crow’s nest near The Mandalorian set in southern California as they have been releasing a lot of set photos and even a video of Taika Waititi directing the supposed season finale. Today, however they seem to have photos of a skiff, that’s reminiscent of the skiffs used on Tatooine in Return of the Jedi.

Basically a trench was dug and a tunnel was erected over a portion of the trench, while crew members made the shore of the trench look like molten rock. The skiff was brought in and was fitted with wheels that would allow it to pass through the tunnel and along the trench.

Normally, we don’t post set photos that aren’t extravagant, and to be honest, the set photos that have come out haven’t been that exciting as of lately, but this one provides a lot of speculation. In their story, MSW also notes the obvious reality that this trench and skiff may just be a part of a bigger background set piece and may not be of any significance at all.

I’m fine with that, but you have to admit that it is pretty damn cool to see a skiff again after 35 years!
