Ron Howard has officially been chosen to helm the rest of the Han Solo solo film!
Howard will join production for the remaining weeks of filming, including re-shoots. Sources say that Howard will meet with the cast and go over the existing footage with a fine-toothed comb. Filming may also be extended and re shoots are almost a given but I think it’s safe to say that the production is in good hands.
Howard acted in George Lucas’ American Grafitti and came back to Lucasfilm to direct Willow – A fantasy fairytale back in 1988. It was even said that at one point, George Lucas wanted Howard to direct 1999’s The Phantom Menace.
While there may be criticisms directed at this director change, I believe we have a capable director who knows what Lucasfilm wants as well as what the fans want.
