Ahsoka Lives?

By Brian Hart

Every Ahsoka fan wants to know the fate of our beloved Snips after that brutal ending in the Rebles season two finale. Ashley Eckstein recently spoke to Yahoo about Ahsoka Tanos’ fate:

“Ahsoka started out as this brand new character that, at first, I thought was going to be the next Jar Jar. But she’s become such a beloved character by everyone — boys, girls, men women — I play a small part in the team that brings Ahsoka to life.”

I’ll be honest and admit that I didn’t like Ahsoka at first, thinking she was just a funnier character who had no purpose, not to mention the fact that Anakin didn’t need a Padawan, especially when the Jedi Council didn’t trust him enough to be a Jedi Knight. Seeing her in Rebels really changed my mind and while I’m still not a huge fan, I will admit that she’s growing on me.

Obviously, there’s a huge fan base for Ahsoka and fan’s hopes for a spinoff movie are high.

“I would love an Ahsoka movie, not only as the voice of Ahsoka, but just as an Ahsoka fan….It’s so exciting that we’re even talking about that, that it’s even a possibility to have a standalone film or other media with Ahsoka in it.”

She also gave some insight to the new The Last Jedi Trailer and what she thinks about Luke:

“Luke’s line in the trailer actually gave me chills because, you know, Ahsoka very famously said, ‘I am no Jedi,’ …The reason Ahsoka is still alive is because she walked away from the Jedi Order. Clearly there’s something there with The Last Jedi…. It’s not what it once was, apparently.”

So we know that Ahsoka left the Jedi Order, only to return to help out the Rebellion, fighting against the empire in Star Wars Rebels. Seems like Luke may be taking a cue from Ahsoka, but we still don’t know if Luke will simply walk away or go full on Dark Side on us.

Finally, Ashley lets us know Ahsoka’s fate:

“I want to know more about Ahsoka’s future as this kind of neutral character,” .Her lightsabers are white because she’s neutral. She’s not on the Dark Side, she’s not a Jedi. She’s not even a full-blown Rebel. What is she doing? Where is she? All I can say is, you’ll see Ahsoka again.”

So we know we will see her again, but in what form? Will there be more novels or TV shows featuring Ahsoka? Will there be a spinoff movie focused on her or will she pop up in another spinoff movie? There have been rumors of Rosario Dawson possibly playing a live action version of the beloved character, not to mention the possibility of her even popping up in the Han Solo anthology movie, which is currently filming.

Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: We will see Ahsoka again!

What do you think? Answer below in the comments and tell us how you would like to see Ahsoka return.
